The Advanced Multimodal Image-Guided Operating (AMIGO) suites (a set of 3 rooms) was conceived, designed, and implemented through the vision of Drs. Ferenc Jolesz and Clare Tempany. It is co-funded by NIH grants and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston. It covers a 5,700 square foot area divided into three sterile procedure (MRI, Operating, PET/CT) rooms in which multidisciplinary teams treat patients using multiple imaging modalities.
The National Center for Advanced Technologies Image Guided Therapy (AT-NCIGT), located at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, is a Biomedical Technology Resource Center of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. Under Dr. Clare Tempany’s leadership, AT-NCIGT serves as a national resource for all aspects of research into medical procedures enhanced by imaging, with the common goal of providing more effective patient care. The Advanced Multimodal Image-Guided Operating (AMIGO) suite is the clinical translational testbed for research in AT-NCIGT. A unique resource for image-guided therapy, AMIGO represents and encourages multidisciplinary cooperation and collaboration among imaging physicists, chemists, computer scientists, mechanical engineers, roboticists, biomedical engineers, nurses, and technologists to reach the common goal of delivering the safest and the most effective state-of-the-art therapy to patients in a technologically advanced and patient-friendly environment.
iNavAMIGO is a loadable module in 3D Slicer to enable real-time navigation of the surgical tools, specifically supported for the Slicer 4 version. Various calibration and registration algorithms, display options and logging options are provided.
SegmentCAD module is a 3D Slicer extension module to segment tumors on DCE-MRI. It is part of the OpenCAD extension.
Documentation and Source code.
The module can be downloaded directly from the Extension Manager in 3D Slicer under the module name “OpenCAD”
HeterogeneityCAD module is a 3D Slicer extension module to quantify the heterogeneity of tumors or an ROI on DICOM images. The images could be CT, MRI or PET, or could be a label map.
Documentation and Source code.
The module can be downloaded directly from the Extension Manager in 3D Slicer under the module name “OpenCAD”
TrackerStabilizer module is a 3D Slicer extension module to filter incoming tracking data via OpenIGTLink. The filter is a moving average low pass filter with variable cut-off frequency.
Documentation and Source code.
The module can be downloaded directly from the Extension Manager in 3D Slicer under the module name “TrackerStabilizer”
